Artist: Laurie Kattreh of Phoenix, AZ
2013 Abstracts Art Exhibition – MyArtContest.com
I grew up in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and studied Cartography and Geography at The University of Wisconsin in Madison. After I graduated in 1984, I escaped the cold weather to Jacksonville Beach, Florida. I am still a Packers and Badgers fan but I will also root for the Jaguars and even the Gators, although my favorite sport to watch is soccer.
I have been drawing and painting all my life and at one point I made a living as a pen and ink drafter before AutoCAD. I have recently rediscovered my passion for the combination of watercolor painting and pen and ink drawing. I live in beautiful Jacksonville Beach where I am more able to dedicate what free time my City Planning profession affords me, to creating and selling my paintings.
I believe every original painting has a creative energy all its own and that that energy is transferred to the viewer. It is in this way my paintings can impart a positive affect on peoples’ emotions and imaginations but you have to move in close to my work to see what I mean!
“L” stands for Laurie, “ily” is for what my kids text to me, I Love You! So is created “Lily’s Loft Paintings”. I hope you find my paintings interesting and inspiring. They are for you.
