My name is Ashley Mauler, I’m a 22 year old art student studying photography.

These self portraits are visual representations of personified emotions that aim to shed light on mental illness, specifically Bipolar II disorder. Being diagnosed with Bipolar II, I understand that my heightened emotions are what direct my actions. This project allowed me to be able to understand my emotions on more than a conceptual level, by using motion to create abstracted forms, I was able to bring my emotions to life visually and creatively.
