Rafael Guajardo is an award-winning portrait artist who resides in beautiful Laguna Niguel, California. He is recognized for his artistic passion, keen visual perception, and fun and relaxed style in fine art portraiture.

He first began his mixed medium art with Polaroid SX 70 manipulation, creating images in the style of impressionist painters. He soon mastered the tools and techniques of hand coloring black and white photographs. He then explored his own technique of oil painting on color portraits. This process does not have any digital manipulation, i.e. filters or “digital painting” He uses time honored techniques that traditional oil painters have used for centuries, with the exception that his photograph is his canvas. The end result is a one of a kind original.
