Painting is a search for a network of interconnectedness resonating in a “sweet spot,” the locus of structure that activates the rectangle. Battling distractions of experience, knowledge, and influences, I try to put myself in a place of meditation and play. Only there do I feel unfettered, so that the painting can be wholly of itself, speaking for itself, insisting on its unique essence and path toward resolution.
