Orianna Montenegro is a Miami based emerging artist and designer born in Acarigua, Venezuela. She attended to Lindenwood University in Saint Louis, Missouri, where she obtained a B.F.A in Studio Art and a B.A. in Graphic Design. She also attended to Parsons the New School of Design, Boston University, and Universite Catholique de Lyon for seasonal courses.

Her work is inspired on psychology, human evolution, and also the nature of time has been a big subject to her work. Orianna’s process is driven by gestures, by lines that escape, by fragmented and eventual forms that grow capturing realities, enabling manageable distances and answering them as they are made. She seeks to show people how all stories are not linear; rather they are circular in each person’s life. People is used to seeing life through numbers, dates, and calendars, which are ultimately limiting aspects of life. Finding the balance in the infinite mixture of past, present, and future is where people get the maximum state of control of their own story. The illustrations refer to people who have gone through Orianna’s story, who have influenced her to become the person she is today. Orianna’s medium choice is acrylic, oils, and digital prints mixed media on canvas or wood panels. The use of color on her work, have been inspired by one of the most recognized artists from Japan. Her name is Yayoi Kusama, she focus her work on loops, dots and repetitions that help on the representation of infinite.

Orianna has been exhibited as a solo exhibition at The Hendren Gallery at Lindenwood University, and as group exhibition at The Boyle Family Gallery, Lilian Yahn Gallery in Saint Louis, Missouri and Curator’s Art Projects in Wynwood.
