Judy Sayfie – Q1 Art Competition – Artist Portfolio Magazine
From an early age I have been passionate about art and colors and this passion has led me to various artistic pursuits in the educational field as well as the personal and professional areas of my life.
As a young artist fresh out of high school I wanted to immerse myself in the world of fine art and become highly skilled in the craft; for this I enrolled at the Wichita State University where I obtained a Bachelor of Art Education degree and a Master of Fine Arts with a thesis of the human form as a visual expression.
I also taught fine art at college and university levels and eventually opened my own gallery studio and enjoyed working with some of the best interior designers in South Florida to provide art to their venues.
After many years I changed gears to engage in a much needed and more personal journey of creativity that involved less commissions and more self-expression. These days, I operate from my private studio and stay active in the arts community of South Florida by participating in various exhibits and creating work that takes me out of the norm and induces self-discovery. The beauty of art is that, even after all these years painting, I continue learning new things that help me grow as an artist.
I paint primarily with oils and I am also experienced in other mediums. I love to paint the human form in all the challenges and seasons we experience throughout life, and I also like to explore abstract forms by creating images representative of people or objects around us and surreal things that may be yet to be discovered.
Art is my life and my everyday companion; it is an ever evolving partner that takes me on a journey of amazing discoveries.
