Masri Hayssam – Dallas, TX

Italian Lebanese Artist. The artist was born in Tripoli-Lebanon. He moved to Italy in 1990.

Since June 2016 live in Dallas -Texas.

Most of his childhood at young age he experienced during a bloody civil war for fifteen years. His works can be divided into different periods and different series of works.

“I am always on the move discovering something artistically new and impressive; something significant with an eye-opening impact on the human psyche; something that does not let monotony and rote repetition take hold of my soul and the flow of my thoughts. This insatiable and agonizing feeling of unexpressed great potential inside of me.

Many a times I feel I am not using all the potentials embedded deep inside me, and this may be one of the reasons why I try to master many different methods and techniques with full freedom and spontaneity, without limitations or boundaries. The versatility in my work and paintings have passed through many different period and styles and technicalities of which I have tried to bring to a high level of perfection every single aspect I deal with as much as I can.

Two significant elements inspire my art. “Curving forms of calligraphic letters” generate new expression and harmony and the “Crashing sea waves” have always fascinated me; their strength and force make me think of God and his creation, and his power. Their vital contrasts challenge me to express myself.

I love to create abstract paintings, because it makes me feel free from any border and strict condition that normally we have in our real daily lives in this society, and feeling me of living the four seasons on the same day or listening to music without instruments.

I am full time artist, I do not embrace the technicalities of one single school neither in drawing, nor in painting, and nor in mixing colours.

I work with oil -Acrylic-Tempera -Ink -Pigment and others. I often feel that it needs to explode and express itself in different domains such as, music or acting.

I love music, piano and violin playing, and I hope I would be able to study them in the near future. But I also like acting: dramatic or comedic.. but most probably surely I will have more success in the dramatic acting simply because I had more experience in dramatic story in the past!

It is easy for one to be haughty, vainglorious and pretentious, but to be humble needs deep understanding to the universal truth in the conscience of the universe.
