Bio:

Vian Borchert is an award winning contemporary expressionist artist.

V. Borchert, an established artist has exhibited in many group and solo exhibitions nationally within the US and internationally. The National Gallery of Art in Amman, Jordan has her artwork in their permanent collection. Vian is a graduate and “Notable Alumni” from the Corcoran College of Art and Design George Washington University, Washington, DC. Vian considers her expressionistic and abstracted art as visual poems.

Vian Borchert’s art has been on exhibit in prestigious places such as the United Nations General Assembly’s Public Lobby Gallery, NYC, and in “Art Basel Miami Beach” Spectrum Miami, 1stdibs Design Center in Chelsea, NYC and the LA Art Show.

Borchert is represented by noted galleries in major world cities such as NYC, LA and the DC area.

Borchert’s artwork has been shown in galleries throughout the world in places such as: NYC, Washington DC, LA, Miami, Maryland, Virginia, Wiesbaden – Germany, Amman, Rome, London, Dubai, Manchester.

Borchert’s art has been featured in many press such as: The Washington Post, Metro Weekly magazine, 300 Magazine, Al-Tiba9 Contemporary Art international magazine, Elan magazine, D’art International Magazine, ART PLUGGED, The Miami Art Scene, Northern Virginia magazine, The Town Courier, The Huffington Post, DC Modern Luxury magazine, NPR’s Art Beat and others.

Vian is also an art educator. Borchert currently teaches fine art classes to adults at Glen Echo Park’s Yellow Barn Studio in the greater Washington DC metropolitan area.

Artist Statement:

Vian Borchert is an expressionist artist. V. Borchert considers all her artwork to be visual poems.

For the noted artist nature is very essential, and plays an important role in her life. Thus, V. Borchert is a nature lover – mother nature is her sanctuary and her ultimate solace. Borchert is an avid nature observer. Through contemplating upon nature, the artist reaches her inner peace and attains moments of zen.

Albeit Vian Borchret’s artwork is abstract in nature – the work offers symbolism referencing the status of a mysterious future and how life is such a precious commodity. V. Borchert’s paintings are metaphoric and showcase a sense of identity of who she is as an artist: her hopes, her aspiration, and her dreams.

Consequently, V. Borchert’s work becomes a bridge of reflection and connection to the past, present along with a sense of wonder to what the future holds.
