In my work, I strive to create imagery that invites the viewer to have their own subjective experience and interpretation. Though much of my work is figurative, I am uninterested in slavish representation. Instead, I use my art as an expressive outlet where I seek to convey a sense of feeling, atmosphere, transitory memory, and the existential experience of the individual.

My work as an artist photographer features the world around us viewed in an alternative way, one that seeks out the extraordinary that lies within the ordinary. Parts of the environment by which we are surrounded are often overlooked despite being plainly within our view. I have for many years been inspired by the commonplace object or landscape and the hidden aspects of that subject matter. Without selecting a microcosm of the subject it is still possible to present the viewer with a radically different perspective of the ordinary by drawing their attention to the potential of the subject by virtue of its shape, colour, texture, shadows, juxtaposition or transient condition rendered by human interference.

Artist Portfolio Magazine is now accepting art submissions for issue 50. This is an open call for art and all visual art forms (paintings, photography, sculptures, etc …) are acceptable.
Issue 50 will be a large 2 volume set with that will include 2 different cover artists and 2 different back cover artists. Each volume will contain around 100 pages of art with contact information (website, social media) for artists.
FREE art submissions will end on January 20, 2022, so submit your art early.
2 & 4 Page Features are guarantee entry into issue 50. Prices will increase on January 20, 2022.
