Art is a spiritual endeavor for the artist. It should also transport the consumer of art beyond the work itself to a contemplative place of exploration, challenge, understanding, enlightenment, joy, and peace.
My art develops relationships between forms and colors with a sense of motion, tension, balance, and with the intention of communicating a design logic. Of primary importance to me are line, continuation, juxtaposition, intersection, edge, angularity, texture, and freedom creating a three dimensional perception. My work has been described by others as non-derivative, with a flavor of modern primitive. Also, it has been described as abstract art but with attractive warmth.
Raised in southeastern Texas, Taylor received both Bachelor of Science in Art & Design and Master of Architecture degrees from MIT with a concentration of studies in Design. He has lived and worked in New England and the Midwest but has settled near Austin, Texas.
