Dmytro Panchenko! Oil, acrilyc and gouache painter! Biography… “A record of one’s life” in Greek… It is a story, a personal narrative of one’s being, in other words. But where does my personal story begin? Would it be when my mother brought me to the school? Or when my father first introduced me to poetry and music? Or when I stood transfixed at my first sight of the original abstract art of Kandinsky? I was born and raised in small town in Ukraine. My fascination with any form of art expression started early on when I fell in love with music and art of Van Gogh and Claude Monet . Later I started learning about and experimenting with painting creating reproduction of my favorite painters. My need to paint was like a whisper in my head that one day needed to manifest itself in a full voice. It is the “voice” whose tonal diversity and amplitude is still only barely etched on the body of my abstract work. As the potential of my creative “voice” expands with time, ranging from an edgy assertion to a controlled scream to a lyrical softness and everything in between; and so does my artistic expression. The syntax of my art language grows and matures like a living organism. And thus the story of my artistic life is only beginning…
