Featured Artist – Matthew Harding
Born and raised in the Bruekelen Housing Projects in Brooklyn, New York, Matthew loved cartoons and animation for the artwork and spent lots of time drawing his favorite animals and cartoon characters. Always displaying a vivid imagination and constantly daydreaming during class. His mother and grandmother always encouraged a career in art. His grandmother was the first to ever tell him to become a painter. She would admire sunsets and tell him that she bet he could paint them if he tried. Matthew made frequent trips to Florida as a child visiting family. It was on one of those trips that he met the first professional artist/writer he had ever seen in his life. He spent hours on the train drawing pictures with the artist. His first and only collaboration was done with that artist on that train. Considering all those things Matthew still wouldn’t think of a serious career in art until 2010.

I am a self-taught artist & have been a serious artist since the age of 8 years old with a focus on pencil & digital drawings and acrylic & oil paintings, but I work with other mediums as well including computer graphics & minor video editing & production. My purpose as an artist is to share, convey, & recreate the love and passion that I feel in whatever the subject matter is that I am working with. Through the creation of art, one is able to explore one’s passions, perhaps creating inspiration & the drive within others to strive for their own goals.
Always continually striving to learn & improve my craft, I work with all kinds of subject matters, but my main specialty focuses on animals & nature. I have always loved animals since very young, & I feel their spirits and souls which I love being able to convey thru my art. My artwork is available throughout Ventura & LA counties, online thru my website, online vendors, & social media, & as far away as 2 Kung Fu schools in China.
