“I was a 26-year-old art student in 1966, working at the Walker Art Center, when Hans Hofmann died.  His passing left a strong impression on me as I was studying his work at the time, and one of his paintings in the Walker collection was my favorite.  His “The Color Problem in Pure Painting” theory stays with me to this day.” Read more.
