Aaron Burks specializes in maritime and naval art as well as portraiture. His inspiration is derived from his time in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He earned his BFA from the University of Tennessee in 2015.

This artwork is a statement on military service, particularly in the Navy. It is meant to express both the pride and the perils (physical and emotional) of service and “reintegration” while being neither boastful nor condemning.
