My work is about the balance, or lack thereof, between order (unity) and chaos (variety). Each painting begins with my own version of action painting. Initially, I focus on creating a rhythm, movement and texture. Beyond this my goal is to utilize shape and color to achieve balance.

The overall aesthetic of my paintings are influenced by characteristics of our reality such as the elements, matter, energy, dimension and paradox.

Ultimately, I strive to compose a balance of these two polarities, order and chaos, with greater elegance.
