Artist Portfolio Magazine’s 20 Art Competition
George Liang – San Gabriel, CA
My artwork is to use watercolor medium as a vehicle to express my vision of landscape, seascape, portraiture, America western life, and special events and activities in the United States. The color idea and light arrangement are the basic elements of my artwork creation. The daily life inspires and offers me lots of good material to paint.
Recently, my work tends to focus on American history, Western life – A portion of my watercolor subject matter is about Native American, Cowboy, Rodeo, and American Civil Reenactment.
I originally came from Taiwan in 1979; my artistic goal is to apply my painting as transverse platform between the Eastern and Western culture that I encountered. I am amazed about the diversity of life, cultures, and landscapes in the States which well supplied me with rich materials to create a serial project of watercolor paintings.
To me, art is my life, painting is a vehicle to express my feelings. The subject, colors, and light inspire me and my watercolor painting.
