Paul Pinzarrone – Machesney Park
This work is a series of updated versions of The Penitent Magdalene. It is a study of sorrow, shame, seduction, sensuality and sadness. They are other-worldly, suggesting a religiousness but with fractal tattoos of sensual vixens [or are they saints?] and bilateral symmetry often witnessed in churches. These are all digital, built with digital photography, fractal, flame and painting software, printed on metallic paper on plexiglas. Each of these draws from the Magdalenes of Titian, LaTour, Perugino and Caravaggio.
