The Yoke Medium Oil on Canvas Size 180cm x180cm

“I am a realist through and through, apolitical and not moralizing. This realism, which tends less to represent reality than to establish reality, rejects any emphasis and any dramatic sensation or satirical intention in a work of art. They are authentic creations, separate from the abstract and from what could be contemptuously described as illustrative. The supposedly realistic pictorial designs are not simple representations of a depictable reality, but always reconstructions that transcend mere experience. I try to represent the found or invented motif in such a way that as an artist I give the viewer the feeling of encountering a new reality that has more weight than just an image.

3-D Wood #1 Size 20 x 30 x 1 (irregular)

I LIKE TO NOTICE THINGS: patterns of cracks on the street, colors of sprinkles scattered across the white icing on a doughnut, the texture of peeling bark. I try to use my brush to capture the tension between patterns, colors, and textures. If I am successful, those who view my work will feel the same joy I feel when creating it. As a self taught artist I have spent over 20 years exploring painting and wood sculpting. My work is abstract featuring bright colors, unusual geometric shapes, and various textures.

Forbidden Color_ Decolonial boy Medium mixed media Size 12 inches x 22 inches

Within the fauna of archetypal bodies I developed my project of research-representation “The Forbidden Color”. With this proposal I seek to unveil the constructions of codes and levels of consciousness, wounds, traces and fragments where a repertoire of languages is constructed.

These expressions question or endorse the Concept of prohibition, whether they are socio-political or socio-economical cultural elements. Childish symbols are important in the construction of my art pieces, since they are the reference, the elements of that moment in life, our childhood, where we build our beliefs and create our agreements with the world of codes with which we reaffirm our criteria.
