Artist Portfolio Magazine’s 20 Art Competition
James Ritchie – Northville, MI
James Ritchie had long been intrigued by the massive size and power of steam locomotives but never did anything with them artistically until he “discovered” Charles Sheeler. Sheeler’s photograph “Wheels,” which was a study for his painting “Rolling Power,” rekindled his interest in photographing steam locomotives and railroads in general, giving birth to his series, “Iron, Steel, and Steam.”
Mr. Ritchie’s award-winning work is enjoyed by an international audience, exhibited regionally and nationally, and is owned by a growing number of corporate, commercial, and private collectors.
