Judy Fan – Naperville, IL
Judy is an award winning artist. Her oil painting “Manly Man” was selected (among 6,000 entries worldwide) as a finalist in the Portraits/Figures category of the Artist’s Magazine 35th Annual Art Competition. Her artwork also appeared in Southwest Art Magazine‘s editorial January 2019 issue. Judy’s artwork continues to receive accolades and awards in recent showings throughout Chicagoland.
While Judy paints all subjects, she is drawn to portraits. She most enjoys painting with emphasis on the human figure. She loves her diverse community in Naperville where people of different race/ethnic backgrounds live in community, collaboration and peace with one another. Whether painting an old woman in Nepal or a little girl next door, Judy’s ability to capture a subject’s unique beauty and authenticity through her paintings gives each work of art poignant expressions through color, texture and dimension.
Oil is Judy’s painting medium. She describes her style as classic realism with a contemporary approach. “I love to see how each bold brushstroke I give to my work evokes emotion for me with the hope that I can capture the individual human spirit from art on canvas to a feeling for those who view my art,” remarks Judy.
Judy studied at Watts Atelier of the Arts, Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts and the DuPage Art League. She is the member of Portrait Society of America and Oil Painters of America. Born and raised in China, she now lives in Naperville, suburb of Chicago. She can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
