Featured Artist | Eugene Kuperman
Eugene Kuperman is a published and an award winning artist. Eugene’s work is in many private collections including in a private collection of Robert Harris Rothchild who has many notable works in his collection by artists like: Rembrandt, Chagall, Dali, Ernst, Lichtenstein, and many more. An art catalog came out in 2012 featuring many of those artists as well as the work commissioned from Eugene. From 2010 to his passing in 2014, Eugene Kuperman studied with a renowned Russian artist Leonid Steele whose works are in many museums in the world, including pieces in the notable Tretakov Gallery in Russia. One of Leonid’s former teachers was a student of a famous Russian landscape painter: Isaac Levitan and another teacher he had, was a student of the famous Russian artist: Ilya Repin. From the end of 2014 since Leonid’s passing, Eugene studied painting with an award winning artist Lance Richlin until 2016 whose technical lineage goes back to the French Academic Masters of the 19th century and one of the teachers that he studied under taught Norman Rockwell.

She graduated from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture in the 90’s, and following her passion for literature and arts, worked as journalist/editor many years. In 1998, she started studying at the San Francisco Academy of Art University, majoring in Graphic design.

My work is not conventional, academic, or the new modernism. I am creating a new avant-garde.
I believe in equality and I want my work to reflect that. The stories in my paintings are situations that everyone faces equally, I paint them from the female perspective because, unfortunately, women are still targeted unfairly so I put them front and center to, in my way, show that we are all equal.

My heritage, my travels and life experiences so far have given me the opportunity of exploring and expressing my ideas and emotions through the media of painting and photography. Through them I hope to visualize and create what I may not be able to communicate through actions or words. I hope to create something unique from the mundane, to celebrate life and share my culture and art with whoever is willing to see and appreciate it.

Featured Artist – John Creekmore
I’ve been an artist since the age of ten but I didn’t discover myself until recently. Although I’ve had art courses and training in Commercial Art, Technical Illustration and The Dayton Art Institute I had a family to look after so at the age of 27 I walked away from art to put food on the table. Five years ago a good friend convinced me to step back up to it for his cigar box guitar business, I was unsure of doing so I hadn’t done any art in so long. But it came back so quickly and I realized what was missing from my life, art makes me happy and complete. Then I slowly discovered my own technique of pencil and white acrylic and how I could come back to realism in that fashion. To be able to bring the eyes of my subjects to life brought back a thrill to my art that I hadn’t known before. Now I wish to share it with the world.
