Artist’s Statement – Cell Phone Camera
I have been photographing the nude since 1968 when I began working on my MFA in Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. For over nearly 50 years, I have explored cameras, processes and techniques seeking to find expressive ways to make new images.
The cell phone is the newest camera that I have recently begun to explore. Working with it’s ease of use, I have done figurative pannos, grids and abstracts. This series of abstracts has been with a focus on the hands of the model against the torso.
