Artist Portfolio Magazine – 2017 Q4 Art Competition
Paulo Delgado – Winnipeg, Canada
Ever since I can remember, painting has always brought me great pleasure. I hadn’t painted in over 10 years and just recently started. I discovered that not only has it brought me pleasure but now I see it as a form of relaxation and stress relieve. Painting makes me travel to a different places. The human body is one of the most fascinating things in nature. It is both simple and complex at the same time. The softness of the feminine shapes and forms contrast with the roughness of the male shapes many times completing each other. Before I only painted in earth tones. Since I came to Canada I started using color and I use colors that remind me of my country. I was born in Mozambique; I grew up and lived in Portugal until January 2010. Since then, I have lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
