I find myself being drawn towards geometric and colorful styles of art. Relating them to the human form and my overall layouts for my pieces. The use of vibrant colors and challenging the norms of how people relate to color is what makes many of my pieces stand out. I want to challenge my viewer’s conventions of what they perceive of colors to represent. It’s that wildness and freedom I seek that make my paintings pop. I use healthy amounts of paint to build dramatic depth and texture within my paintings. I prefer to experiment and have fun during the process of painting; I believe my work exemplifies that mentality.
My goal is to make the viewer feel engrossed and involved in the painting, to find all of the little details of the pieces; from heavy textures I use, to the switches in perspective throughout. Painting for me is a fun process of experimentation and freedom.
