Rohini Sinha – Landscapes – Artist Portfolio Magazine

My perennial inspiration is Nature. How the moods and feelings absorbed turn abstract as they find expression in my work I don’t know .Nature is abstract; the recognition is ours. It is the privilege of the viewer to see what they see. For me it is NATURE.
My work is imbued with the forests, the hills of Western Ghats and the sea that are so much a part of living in this bustling big city of Bombay . During the monsoon time there are clouds all around, grey and white, floating over dark hills, suggesting something, taking all kinds of shape, talking , absorbing ,seeping into you and into your work
Charcoal is a very sensitive medium. It has so much depth. It gives you the whole range of tonalities from white to black and a wide range of textures. Very satisfying.
For painting I prefer acrylics to oil paints. There is so much freedom with it and you can do so much.

I have had eight one person shows and have participated in several group shows and large exhibitions at the national level
I have won Awards
I am an Artslant Showcase winner
