5 Year Anniversary Art Exhibition – Artist Portfolio Magazine
Marie Wohlfahrt – Lebanon, PA
As an artist who studied materials, pigments and dyes, my process of creation is about finding the correct ratio between texture, elements found on the seashore and intuitive colors.
My source of inspiration comes from the memories I have from “le Mor Bihan” (which means “small sea” in Breton), the seascape’s pictures I receive from my family who still leaves there. My French origins, the landscape, energy and folklore from Brittany always inspired me. Nature, either it is a seashell, a piece of floated wood, seaweeds, a mother of pearl, gets a second life and give to my artworks a third dimension.
Brittany is the region where I gather most of my materials and inspiration but every journey, either it is in the US, France, Italy, Brazil or the Caribbean, I will bring something back that will nurture a new painting.
Now living in Lebanon, Pennsylvania with my husband and two children, painting is still a “dual” passion. Industrial paint design during the day, artistic painting the rest of the time!
