- Artist Portfolio Magazine Q1 Art Competition
- Ana Laura Lucero – Rosario, Argentina
Self-taught artist born in Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina. Currently living in Rosario, Santa Fé, Argentina.
“My artistic career started in 2013 when I could discover a wide range of artists who served as an inspiration to find my own voice and own style.”
“Among the artists who have influenced me the most I can mention Leonid Afremov, Russian Impressionist painter whose vibrant colours are predominant in his works. These pieces of art inspired my first set of works performed in acrylic on canvas. The dominant theme was related to landscapes and impressionist nature scenes which turned to realism.”
“By that time I felt myself extremely limited by acrylic paint so, I started to explore the oil on canvas technique, which was a turning point in my productions. Suddenly, it turned into the human figure and heightened realism. In this period, Alexei Antonov´s and Omar Ortiz´s influence had a profound impact on me.
Thank to Alexei Antonov I learnt the Old Masters´ 7 layers technique and I continued to blend it with the modern hyper realistic one. This, allowed me to achieve works such as: “The Teardrop” and “Reflective” among others.
