Kemi Yemiese – Q1 Art Competition – Artist Portfolio Magazine

It is the human condition to explore, to seek excellence, and to create. The absence of immortality doesn’t deter our journeys. Those who create understand that our creations live on beyond us, but also carry us with them. When you acknowledge the presence of the infinite within you, you then become drawn to the things that reflect and echo those boundless circumstances. Those that engage undeterred by the risk or fear are privileged. Being an artist with a physical disability has taught me much about inner strength and has given me a deeper insight regarding fragile limits. Themes like identity and creation are evident in my work but it’s my goal for my art to be transcendent and connect in some way with each viewer. Every living thing has limits whether they are physical, mental, or emotional. In my experience, these limitations are not as solid as they seem and I seek to test the strength of my own limitations through my art.
