Anthony Whelihan – Q1 Art Competition – Artist Portfolio Magazine

As a portrait Artist, I find the face a total expression into the heart of the person. It can be an expression of experience or lack there of. I try to tell a story within and work in bold primary colors. Color can alter mood and excite the imagination, enticing the viewer to look beyond the surface. The portrait takes center stage with images emerging from the main portrait, fading in, then evolving into another, creating a portrait within. Look close then look again as what you first see may be but a fragment of the story being told. Learning to Look is the vision to see.
