Jose Enrique Portas is a Valencian native (Spain),and currently resides in Rochester, New York. he is in alumni of Rochester Institute of Technology. He received his M.F.A from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
He is and adjunct professor at St. John Fisher College where he teaches Art History of the Spanish Cultures in the Spanish language. He teaches as well at the Empire Estate College in Rochester New York.
He also taught Printmaking, Drawing and Painting during his studies at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Mr. Porta’s works are predominantly oil paintings, but he has an extensive training in other areas of other mediums. Jose Enrique Portas has exhibited his pieces here in the United States as well as abroad. Some of the achievements in his art career where: In 2010-2011 Assistant Teaching Grants, Fanny Knapp Allen Scholarship at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Honors: In 2009 Regional Exhibition Honorable mention to his sculpture piece Classical.
In 2012 a Digital Print “Enigma of mankind” was exhibited at the Manhattan Times Square Billboard. In 2013-2014 Lectures in St. John Fisher College and Casa Hispana at Nazareth College of Rochester New York. ( Two Worlds, One Intention: To paint)
Workshops 2011-2016 in St. John Fisher College Presentation of mask fabrication and acrylics painting. In 2015 Jose Enrique Portas was on of the Judges at the Arts of the Gardens in Canandaigua, New York.
