Meredith Turcotte received her BFA in painting frm Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA. She also spent a year studying painting at Maine College of Art in Portland. Growing up in a rural area, she was often found playing in the neighboring woods and rivers. This love for nature is something that has matured into her visual dialogue. Turcotte’s more recent work explores ways in which some people might view the outdoors as a second home, or even their true home by bringing their creature comforts into nature with them. This consequently creates a rather surreal atmosphere, bridging the gap between the walls we build to protect ourselves and the wild outdoors.
