Born and raised in Beijing, China, Shi Dong draws on a rich heritage of traditional Chinese arts and philosophy. Shi studied philosophy at Capital Normal University in Beijing, China. She then went to San Francisco where she earned her MA in Art Education at the Academy of Art University, where she continues to study towards a Mater’s of Fine Art degree in Painting. Now, she focuses on both abstract painting and concept art, and her works often combine Eastern and Western aesthetic values.
