2013/14 Portraits Art Exhibition – MyArtContest.com
Working across a variety of mediums, I create work that reflects the fascinating subjects of my environment. The colors and magnificence of the landscapes, attention-grabbing and interesting people, as well as the ideas that come to mind while observing daily life interactions, are some of the recurring themes in my art.
I enjoy painting portraits that demonstrate human emotion, personality, and the thoughts that affect a person on any given day. Often I ask to take a picture of a person to paint, or paint directly from a model. At times I get approached for a commissioned portrait painting and I also love to just paint human situations from daily life that attract my attention.
I approach each painting differently. Depending on the subject matter, I usually plan in advance on the composition, material, method and techniques for each work and I love to try new ideas. I mostly paint in a representational realistic style with oil, but also I frequently mix contemporary painting techniques with classical methods and often experiment with new and innovative materials and concepts. However, all of them are linked by the same idea: to suggest the situation, the history or an event happened in people’s life.
I am not looking to provide answers with my art, but to raise questions, evoke thoughts or emotions from the viewer. It helps me to better understand people and their differences, learn about my own, and to contribute to the shared human life experiences.
