I grew up in the country where the red earth and rolling hills inspired me. I started painting and playing instruments as a child, and since then music and art have always been my main passions.
I began selling my paintings and prints 25 years ago in NSW and Queensland, and whilst I spent many years working on my art, I was also very involved in the music industry as a Singer/Songwriter for about 15 years.
I held my first Solo Exhibition of my Outback Series in Broken Hill in September 2006 and since then have held 12 Exhibitions in Sydney.
I will be having a further solo exhibition at Westmead Hospital for two months beginning 16th April, 2014. I will be exhibiting two series: The Aussie Outback, and Perspectives in Blue and Green.
My Archibald entry for 2013 “Don Burrows – our National Living Legend” was exhibited at TAP Gallery, Darlinghurst from 1st – 14th April 2013. You can see Don’s portrait in my Gallery in the Archibald category.
I love painting the the rich and vivid colours of the Outback, perhaps because they remind me of home. I enjoy capturing the imperfections of nature, and at times the humour that seems particular to the Aussie bush.
More recently I have found myself focusing closer to home with impressions of Inner Sydney – it’s aspects and it’s characters. Sometimes abstract, sometimes quirky, sometimes moody. In my latest series, Perspectives in Blue and Green, I have explored an almost whimsical aspect and these paintings are more soothing.
I work in acrylics usually, and sell my works through exhibitions, commissions, and word of mouth.
Cheers,
Rose

I like all three – but particularly the Langfords. It’s just as well for me that I live on the age pension, for otherwise all my money would be spent on art.
I’ve gone in the hole to buy art. Not a smart financial move, but the art was awesome and I still have it and I’m still broke. 🙂
When you live on the age pension, you don’t get no loans. 🙁
