I have been drawing and painting my whole life, but it wasn’t until 2003 when I met the painter Jesse Edwards (www.jesseedwards.com) through skateboarding that I started taking it seriously. He gave me my first oil paints and shortly after that I was given a full scholarship to gage academy where I studied drawing under the instruction of Mark Kang O’Higgins (www.kangohiggins.com). Today I study from books that I have collected over the years and directly from nature. My goal as an artist at this point is to be able to create beautiful paintings in the traditional manner but also express the core feelings of my inner psyche through my work. Painting to me is meditation and its the only time I feel like I am doing exactly what I need to be doing in this life.
